What Landscaping Costs in Waterloo Region

Every property is different, so we quote per project rather than by the hour. Use a calculator for a ballpark figure, then book a free on-site measure for a firm number.

Get a Ballpark Before You Call

Each calculator asks a few questions about your property and returns a realistic range in under a minute. You see the number straight away — no email required first.

Sod & Lawn Replacement

Enter your front and back yard measurements and the calculator returns an installed cost estimate covering removal of the old lawn, soil preparation and fresh-cut sod.

Retaining Walls

Length, height, material and site access each change what a wall costs, and the calculator accounts for all four. Walls above roughly a metre also need engineering, which it factors in.

Interlock Patios

Patio cost turns mostly on the area, and the calculator applies the right rate band for your size. The figure covers excavation, base preparation and the stone itself.

How We Price a Job

Three steps, and no charge until work begins. We do not price by the hour and we do not quote over the phone without seeing the property.

1

Free On-Site Measure

We come to the property, measure the area, and check grade, drainage and access. Materials get discussed on site where you can see the space rather than over a phone line. There is no charge and no obligation.

2

Written, Itemised Quote

The figure arrives in writing with the work broken out — excavation, base, materials, labour and disposal as separate lines. That is deliberate: it lets you compare us fairly against another quote instead of guessing what each number covers.

3

Fixed Price Before We Start

The quoted figure is what you pay. If something unexpected turns up underground we stop, show you what is there, and price it before carrying on, rather than adding it quietly to the final invoice.

Common Questions About Landscaping Costs

It depends far more on what you are building than on the size of the house. A new lawn on a standard Kitchener lot sits in a completely different bracket from an interlock driveway or an engineered retaining wall. That is why we point people at a calculator for the specific job first — a single average for “landscaping” is close to meaningless, and any figure given without seeing the property is a guess.

Almost always the part you cannot see. Excavation and base preparation are the single largest line on most hardscape jobs, and they are also where corners get cut to win a bid. On a driveway that means eight to twelve inches of compacted granular over geotextile before a paver is laid. Materials matter, but the base decides whether the surface is still level in ten years.

Because a price list would be wrong for most of the people reading it. The same two hundred square foot patio can vary by thousands depending on paver choice, shape, what is already there and whether a machine can physically reach the back yard. A range from a calculator that asks about your property is more honest than a table that ignores it, and you still get a firm written number after a free measure.
